Product variants

The shampoo bars are sulfate free. They're pH balanced just for hair and won't strip out color - even temporary color lasts longer! We have three different shampoo bars - Normal, Gentle and Clarify. Some of the ingredients sound ‘chemical'-y, but they’re quite ‘green & clean’. I've explained each in my ingredient list.

Gentle is intended for dry to normal hair, and is scented with rose. Normal is a mild shampoo, but does not contain as much oil as Gentle and is scented with lavender. Clarify cleans well, but does not strip the hair so clean that rebound oiliness occurs and is scented with grapefruit.

The conditioner bar is a rinse out or leave-in and is scented lightly with rose.

NOTE: During hot months, shipping will take longer as we take precautions to ensure you receive your conditioner bars intact.

Love the Lavender Shampoo bars

Both my husband and I love the shampoo bars. We have used them for several years. Neither of us feel the need to change up our shampoo as we did with store bought. They last a long time and we certainly avoid the plastic container madness.

I have shopped with Julee for a couple years now. The first couple times I saw the shampoo bars, I said "Id try them, but all the shampoo bars I've seen so far have so much alcohol, I'm afraid to use them'
Then she explained 'fatty alcohols' to me and that they're not the same as drying alcohols. duh. So I tried the Gentle because I have really dry, curly hair. FANTASTIC!! Thank you

The cleansing shampoo is wonderful. The scent is divine. It lathers so well and cleans beautifully. Love it!

Best Shampoo Bar Yet!!!

The Clarify Shampoo Bar is absolutely, hands down, the BEST shampoo bar I've ever tried. Trust me, I've ordered shampoo bars from several different companies that sell on Amazon and I wasn't happy with any of them. I found that they left my hair feeling like it was coated with oil and looking like it hadn't been washed at all. However, Ancestral Herbals' shampoo bar left my hair feeling silky and smelling wonderful; even my hair stylist complimented me on the way my hair felt. I highly recommend giving this one a try if you're looking to switch from the typical liquid shampoo in a single-use plastic bottle to a more eco-friendly option that is also 100% natural and safe.
